Biography
Current PhD student researching nitrogen cycle microbial in different oyster farms across the UK. After completing BSc Marine Biology at the University of Essex in 2023, I decided to stay and continue studying. I am interested in the potential of oyster farms to remove the nitrogen from costal ecosystem.

Thesis
Nutrient and functional nitrogen cycle microbial analysis of oyster aquaculture sites across the United Kingdom
Microorganisms are critical to the cycling of nitrogen (N) in coastal systems. This study aimed to characterise the abundance of microbial communities driving N transformations associated with one naturalised rock oyster (Magallana gigas) reef and four rock oyster aquaculture sites across the UK in relation to nutrient concentrations. Sediments were taken from beneath oyster trestle tables or around naturalised oyster reefs and from control sediments. Live rock oyster shell surfaces were also sw
