Basic research; molecular mechanisms of signal transduction in the context of cancer: Since 2014 we apply the revolutionary CRISPR/Cas9 technique to edit candidate genes in the genome of human cell lines and study the effects of mutations found in large NGS datasets. One particular focus is the candidate tumour suppressor SCRIB. We have incorporated the CRISPR/Cas9 technique in our final-year and MSc research projects.
