Thesis
Engineering Living Biological Systems Towards Artifical Embodied Intelligence
The project aims to explore the advancement of computational models and bioprinting technology in the creation of biologically based synthetic intelligence. We will investigate how cells can function as programmable biological information processing units, analysing their potential to serve as controllable agents in synthetic systems.
Supervisor: Dr. Michael Barros , Prof. Reinhold Scherer , Dr. Andrea Mohr
Research interests
Bioprinting for Synthetic Intelligence
Investigating the use of bioprinting technologies to create programmable biological structures that can act as computational units for synthetic intelligence systems.
Cellular Information Processing
Exploring how biological cells can be engineered to function as dynamic, reconfigurable units capable of performing complex information processing tasks, bridging the gap between biological and digital computation.
