Biography

Flavia Popescu-Richardson, the Knowledge Exchange Manager for CSEE and Maths, is a highly experienced professional with more than twelve years in the finance and investment sector. Her most notable achievement is her crucial role in over 170 equity and debt transactions, which resulted in a capital investment total of £70 million. As the former Chief Commercial Officer at Velocity Juice, she led the market strategy and cultivated essential partnerships to drive growth. Her venture capital career includes managing portfolios for prestigious entities such as the P&O investment arm, the London Co-Investment Fund (Funding London), and Beacon Capital. As the Vice-President of Silicon Valley Bank (now HSBC Innovation Banking), she made significant contributions to expanding life sciences and healthcare technology portfolios in EMEA. Beyond her venture capital expertise, Flavia also serves as an expert coach and jury member for the EIC Accelerator, aiding innovative start-ups throughout Europe. She has completed over six years as an expert with the ESMEA on Horizon2020 and SME Instruments.
