Biography
Maja Pulic is a Lecturer in Marketing at Essex Pathways Department and Essex Business School. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate modules in marketing, consumer behaviour, and research methods. She received her PhD in 2024 from the University of Birmingham, Birmingham Business School, under supervision of Professor Christina Goulding and Dr Andrew Pressey. She is a researcher with a dual focus in the fields of critical marketing and qualitative research methodologies. Her work explores the relationship between marketing and places in crisis, particularly how marketing practices intersect with communities emerging from challenges such as post-conflict rebuilding or political disruptions. Her second area of expertise lies in the development and application of qualitative research methodologies. She specializes in grounded theory, and has a strong commitment to working with vulnerable groups, particularly in disrupted/sensitive settings. In cooperation with the University of Belgrade (PI: Professor Nebojsa Petrovic) -European Association of Social Psychologists (EASP): Post-conflict reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (PI: Professor Sabina Čehajić – Clancy) Other research experience includes developing intervention methodologies for international organisations such as UNDP and NATO in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
