Profile
Biography
I am an ecologist interested in answering key questions on social-ecological systems and global change. In 2020 I was awarded a masters degree (Cum Laude) in biology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Since finishing my masters I worked at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Research, Australia, where I worked with social-ecological networks, aiming to better understand links between system structure and function. Other work and education experience have provided me with additional background in conservation and marine based field work. Currently, I am a PhD student at the University of Essex, researching spatiotemporal trends in food webs of the North Atlantic Seas. I am passionate about my PhD research as it has the potential to provide clear cut advice and comparisons for sustainable management despite the complexity of social-ecological systems.
