Biography

The take-away message - I'm passionate about encouraging students and helping them to thrive. I have been working within Careers Services at the University of Essex since 2019. I have a passion for supporting the employability needs of our students. Over the years I have provided a wealth of support around many topics including: CVs, cover letters, interviews, support for international students, psychometric tests, useful resources, and more recently - placement years. As a related side-project I am a career mentor at Essex and support both undergraduate and postgraduate students in developing career plans and actualizing their potential. My history of supporting students stretches back to 2008 when I began my PhD in Psychology. While I progressed on my PhD, I also worked as a Graduate Laboratory Assistant. As part of this role I had the pleasure to support psychology students both in class and through marking their essays and lab reports.
