Biography

Jonathan is a registered Social Worker (Social Work England) and a qualified Practice Educator (PEPS 1&2). Jonathan worked for Essex County Council for 13 years in various roles from Community Support Worker to Senior Social Worker. Jonathan has a wealth of experience working within Adult Social Care and Safeguarding. Jonathan brings practical front line social work experience to his teaching and is keen to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Areas of interest include: Safeguarding, Dementia, Learning Disabilities and Autism, Critical Reflection and Sociology. Masters dissertation was an exploration of how addressing stigma for those with dementia can promote citizenship and create more dementia friendly communities.
