Research interests
Using climatic and imaging data to predict apple flowering time and fruit ripeness
Environmental factors, especially temperature, have an effect on flowering time in perennial trees. Reports have been focused on a cold phase in winter, followed by a warm phase when temperatures rise in spring. Recent studies suggest that cold and warm phases potentially overlap and that the inadequacy of cold can be replaced by additional heat. I intend to look into this further using the past 80 years of climate data collected to create a model to predict flowering time. Apple ripeness at ha
