Biography

Currently, I am pursuing a masters research project focusing on the role of interferon-induced transmembrane proteins (IFITMs) in the SARS-CoV-2 entry pathway. IFITMs are a family of antiviral proteins known to restrict the entry of various viruses by interfering with membrane fusion processes. My research examines how IFITMs impact SARS-CoV-2s ability to enter host cells, providing insights into the mechanisms by which these proteins inhibit viral entry. This work aims to contribute to our understanding of IFITM-mediated immune defences, potentially guiding novel therapeutic approaches to combat SARS-CoV-2 infection.
