The development of a delivery system, and validation of, DNAzymes as a treatment option for Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in UK men, with drug resistance leading to castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). RNA-cleaving DNAzymes, such as 8-17 and 10-23, offer potential for AR-targeted therapy. DNAzyme nanoflowers, formed via rolling circle amplification, enhance delivery and gene silencing in cancer cells. This study assesses DNAzyme cleavage and nanoflower uptake by prostate cancer cells, with future work on their impact on cell viability and proliferation.
