TP53 Mutations as Causal Factors in Cancer and Telomerase Activation
We are analysing and characterising a novel nonsense p53 mutation. We have developed a new CRISPR-Select assay that uses purified Cas9 protein, to aid our characterisation. NGS results demonstrate that this novel mutation has been successfully introduced into a percentage of cells in culture. This provides the basis for a model to analyse mutations to oncogenes and tumour suppressors over time, which could be a powerful tool for cancer research.
