Our expert staff

Dr Debabrata Ghosh

Dr Misagh Tasavori is a Senior Lecturer at Essex Business School with a background in business administration, holding a PhD from Manchester Business School. Her research interests are primarily focused on business strategy, international business, and entrepreneurship, with a particular emphasis on the growth and performance improvement of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across various sectors, including for-profit, non-profit, and social enterprises. Her research can be categorized into three main areas: Business Strategy, International Business and International Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship.

Structure

Module Outline

The course duration is 2 days consisting of 4 sessions each day. Each session is about 1.5 hours in duration.

Day 1

Session 1 Strategic Business Analysis: Unveiling Insights Discover the foundational elements of strategic analysis in this dynamic session. Participants will delve into the essence of the value proposition pyramid, gaining a comprehensive understanding of its significance in business strategy. Through practical exploration, they'll unlock the power of the business model canvas, mastering its application as a tool for strategic insight. Session 2 Unveiling Growth Catalysts: Identifying Key Drivers Leveraging the foundation of the value proposition and business model canvas, this session delves into a thorough examination of organisational strengths and weaknesses. Through insightful discussions, participants will pinpoint the critical drivers fuelling growth, exploring avenues for maximizing potential and mitigating risks.
Session 3 Navigating Growth: Opportunities & Threats Assessment In this session, participants will be equipped with a diverse toolkit designed to uncover hidden opportunities and anticipate potential threats within the business environment. Through hands-on exploration of various analytical tools and methodologies, attendees will gain the insights needed to navigate complexities, seize opportunities, and fortify against threats.

Session 3 Innovative Growth Blueprint: Crafting & Choosing Strategies Participants will be immersed in the art of generating innovative strategies tailored to their unique business contexts. Through a systematic approach, attendees will explore methodologies for evaluating and selecting the most promising growth avenues. Participants will also be equipped with the tools and insights needed to drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
Session 4 Executing Growth: Strategy Implementation & Anticipated Hurdles In this session, participants will explore the critical factors essential for successful strategy execution, from aligning resources to managing change effectively.
