Essex Law School

Annual Essex Law Lecture

This event offers students an excellent opportunity to network with local solicitors who are invited to attend the reception and lecture.

For the past 30 years, a highlight of the legal year has been the Essex Law Lecture, hosted by the Essex Law School with the support of the local profession through the Suffolk and North Essex Law Society (SNELS). Previous speakers have included senior judges, the Director of Public Prosecutions, HM Chief Inspector of Prisons, directors of NGOs, prominent legal practitioners and Members of Parliament.

The next Essex Law Lecture is on the 25 June 2024, presented by guest speaker, Emeritus Professor Françoise Hampson.

Francoise Hampson is an Emeritus Professor of Law at the University of Essex, where she taught from 1983 – 2011 and is one of the leading experts in human rights and humanitarian law of our time.
