Class of 2021: We’re here for you.

We know that it’s daunting to face graduating into a recession during a global pandemic and that’s why we want you to know that we are here for you, both now and after you graduate.

Whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student, you have ongoing access to a wide range of support and expertise throughout the remainder of your final year, and when you graduate.

• We have created workshops and events specifically for final year students on a range of topical and crucial skills, all available via zoom and to book via CareerHub.
• There is a wealth of advice and practical support available on CareerHub+. Resources include support to build and develop your CV, prepare for assessment centres and even practice your interview technique.. The Careers Services Moodle also links to support and resources, including the Careers Services podcast, blog and LinkedIn page.
• 1:1 careers advice appointments or support with an application or interview can be booked online via CareerHub.

If you are a final year undergraduate, it is likely that you opted-in to Generation Essex at registration this year, but you should check if you are registered and follow the instructions to opt-in if not. This will enable us to keep supporting you after you have completed your degree.

• Our dedicated Generation Essex MoodleX page hosts quick links to resources alongside graduate webinar recordings from specialist events.
• If you’re considering starting your own business, the Click Crowdfunding Team will match up to £500 for a business startup and up to £1000 for a theatre project. In addition to this, the Essex Startups Team will offer you specialised support to help you make your business or company a continued success.
• The Essex Interns team create paid internships exclusively for Essex students and graduates. Join the Essex Interns mailing list and find opportunities on the CareerHub vacancy board. Remember to follow #StillHiring on social media for the latest graduate opportunities and news.
• Book one of our Postgraduate Study sessions, to explore your further study options and understand how to write a great personal statement. Don’t forget, if you’re staying at Essex you can also benefit from the Alumni Loyalty Discount.
