One of the core missions of the Essex Finance Centre is to provide a platform for researchers, policymakers and industry practitioners to disseminate their research and views on current issues in banking, finance and financial econometrics.
The Essex Finance Centre runs an annual EFiC Conference in Banking and Corporate Finance, research seminar series and workshops.
Through our events we have been able to:
- Attract distinguished speakers from all over the world to present their research findings.
- Offer our delegates the opportunity to submit their work to Special Issues of international, highly reputed journals, including the British Journal of Management, European Journal of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance and Journal of Financial Services Research.
- Debate and openly discuss, through panels and roundtables, a variety of topics of great significance, such as small businesses’ access to finance, the sustainability of organisations, and diversity in banking.
- Connect to and collaborate with policy-makers and industry practitioners.
- Ringfence dedicated sessions for research students.
- Offer delegates and guest speakers opportunities to meet, connect and network in a friendly environment.
EFiC events have been supported by various bodies, including the Bank of England, the British Academy, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Money, Macro Finance Society (MMF).
