The University of Essex (in particular CSEE) runs a joint program with Northwest University (NWU) in Xi’an City, China.
NWU is one of the elite universities in China, excelling in both research and education. This Joint Programme (JP) is based in the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) of NWU.
Students on this JP spend 3 years in China and 1 year in the UK. They will be awarded two Bachelor degrees, and can take advantage of the educational benefits from both sides, both academically and culturally.
The key objective of the Joint Degree is to produce students who have high level of innovative ability and an international perspective through the study of fundamental theory along with experimental skills.
The program prepares students for a broad range of careers in China or worldwide, such as software engineering or electronic systems within large companies, management of high technology projects, or teaching and research.
