We're excited to announce confirmed dates for our 2025 Graduations.

All Graduations in 2025 will be held at our Colchester Campus in Essex, UK.

All students who may be eligible to attend a ceremony at will be contacted via e-mail with more information, including how to book their place at Graduation.

If you are unsure which graduation you may be eligible to attend or have any questions, please contact the Graduation and Awards Team at graduation@essex.ac.uk or by calling 01206 872174


To attend Graduation, it is essential that you pre-book your place before the booking deadline published for each Graduation. Should you wish to bring guests, you must purchase tickets for them via the Graduation Booking System when it opens.

 

Upcoming Graduations

Spring Graduation 2025 (Colchester, UK)

Monday 7 April – Friday 11 April 2025

Awards received between Friday 5 July 2024 and Thursday 20 March 2025 will be eligible for Spring Graduation, although students must still meet the full eligibility criteria.

All eligible students have been contacted now via email. Students should contact the Graduation and Awards Office (graduation@essex.ac.uk) if they have not received an email but are expecting to attend Spring Graduation 2025. Booking for Spring Graduation 2025 is essential.

Booking is currently open but will close for Spring Graduation at 4pm on Thursday 20 March 2025. Some ceremonies may close sooner if they sell out before this date.

 

Ceremony 1 - Monday 7 April 2025 - 1pm  

Faculty of Science and Health:

Graduate and Guest tickets are now very limited for this ceremony.

 

Ceremony 2 - Monday 7 April 2025 - 4pm

Faculty of Science and Health:

  • School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering

Graduate and Guest tickets are still available for this ceremony.

Ceremony 3 - Tuesday 8 April 2025 - 10am

Faculty of Science and Health:

  • School of Health and Social Care (see programme list)
  • School of Statistics, Mathematics and Actuarial Science

Graduate tickets are now very limited. Guest tickets are still available for this ceremony.

 

Ceremony 4 - Tuesday 8 April 2025 - 1pm

Faculty of Science and Health:

Graduate are still available for this ceremony but are very limited.

This ceremony is now full and guest tickets have sold out.
Limited Reception Only* guest tickets are available.

Please contact graduation@essex.ac.uk if you have not booked for this ceremony but wish to attend, who will advise on the options available to you.

*These will permit guests entry to the Graduation Reception held after the main ceremony. Guests with these tickets can either watch the ceremony live streamed online using a mobile device on campus, or visit one of our outlets where the ceremony will be screened live, and then join graduates for the Reception celebrations after where refreshments are served.

Ceremony 5 - Wednesday 9 April 2025 - 10am

Faculty of Science and Health and Faculty of Social Sciences:

Graduate and guest tickets for this ceremony are now very limited. 

 

Ceremony 6 - Wednesday 9 April 2025 - 1pm

Faculty of Social Sciences:

  • Department of Economic and Institute of Social and Economic Research
  • Department of Languages and Linguistics
  • Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies
  • Department of Sociology and Criminology

Graduate and guest tickets for this ceremony are now very limited.  

Ceremony 7 - Thursday 10 April 2025 - 10am

  • University of Essex Online (Kaplan Open Learning)

Graduate and Guest tickets are still available for this ceremony.

Ceremony 8 - Thursday 10 April 2025 - 1pm

Faculty of Social Sciences:

  • Essex Business School (see programme list)

    and students joining from partner institutions:
    Writtle College, Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, Laksamana College of Business

Graduate tickets are now very limited. Guest tickets are still available for this ceremony.

Ceremony 9 - Thursday 10 April - 4pm

Ceremony 10 - Friday 11 April 2025 - 10am

Ceremony 11 - Friday 11 April 2025 - 1pm

Faculty of Arts and Humanities:

  • East 15 Acting School
  • Edge Hotel School
  • Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies
  • School of Philosophical, Historical, and Interdisciplinary Studies

Graduate and Guest tickets are still available for this ceremony.

Summer Graduation 2025 (Colchester, UK)

Monday 14 July – Friday 18 July 2025

Awards received between Friday 21 March 2025 and Thursday 3 July 2025 will be eligible for Summer Graduation, although students must still meet the full eligibility criteria.

 

Booking for Summer Graduation 2025 is essential. Booking is now open and students wishing to attend must confirm their space through the Booking System by 4pm Friday 4 April 2025 to secure their place and will also be able to purchase up to 2 guest tickets. Graduate and guest tickets cannot be guaranteed after this deadline.

The booking system will temporarily close on Friday 4 April, but will then re-open at the end of April for a second phase of booking where any remaining guest tickets will be released and sold on a first come, first served basis.
