Free Microsoft Office 365 for students

While you're studying at Essex, you get free access to the latest Microsoft Office 365 apps like Word, OneDrive, PowerPoint, OneNote and more. When you leave Essex, your free access ends.

To get started, simply sign in to Microsoft Office 365 using your Essex IT account:

Download Microsoft Office 365 for your own devices

You can set up Microsoft Office 365 on up to five of your own devices:

Phone and tablet (Android, iPhone, iPad)

Follow Microsoft's instructions on how to set up Office apps and email on a mobile device
When opening an app, sign in with your Essex username using the format username@essex.ac.uk

PC or Mac

Go to portal.office.com/account and sign in using your Essex IT account.
Under Office apps & devices, choose Install Office. Go to your downloads and Run the installer.
Once installed, open any Microsoft 365 app and sign in with your Essex username and password, using the format username@essex.ac.uk
