You can print, copy and scan using any of our multifunction printers on campus. Find them in or near to study spaces where there are computers.

Print credit and top-ups

You get £10 virtual print credit at the start of each academic year - this is not real money, just a virtual balance.
Your credit will automatically top up at the start of each term. To request access to higher volume printing, please speak with your personal tutor.
You may be entitled to higher volume printing if you have Specific Learning Differences (SpLD).
You can check your virtual balance at any time.
You can't top-up using your own money.

Go to any computer on campus and log in.
When you're ready to print, choose Essex Printing from the list of available printers (it should be the default printer) and print your document.
Now you can go to any of our multifunction printers on campus. You have 3 days to collect your print, otherwise you will have to print it again.
Log in to the printer with your student card, select the document and print it.
You can manage your print queue at any time.

To print from a mobile device, such as your personal phone or laptop:

Using your Essex email account, open a new email and attach the documents you want to print. You must send the email from your Essex email account otherwise it won't work.
Send the email to mobileprinting@essex.ac.uk
Now you can go to any of our multifunction printers on campus. You have 3 days to collect your print, otherwise you will have to print it again.
Log in to the printer with your student card, select the document and print it.
You can manage your print queue at any time.

You can scan a document to a PDF file and send it to your email address.

Tip: It's cheaper to print double-sided.
