Your Personal Record IDentifier (PRID) is a set of numbers and letters that the University uses to uniquely identify all students and staff. You need your PRID to access some University services.
A PRID is generated overnight once you firmly accept an offer to study at Essex. Your PRID will be in your pre-arrival information pack and posted on your applicant portal (on the Home tab in the Personal details box).
If you need your PRID earlier than this, provided you have accepted your offer, you can request it from ugsupport@essex.ac.uk.
A PRID is normally generated overnight once you accept a conditional or unconditional offer to study at Essex. You'll receive an email with your PRID and it will be posted on your applicant portal.
Your PRID is printed on your student identity (ID) card and it's also on your myEssex portal (under Your personals details). Find out what you need to do if you lose your ID card.
You need your PRID to set up your IT account which is done via the process to get your University login and password. Once you do that, you'll get your University username and password which is used to access IT services.
You need your PRID to accept your accommodation offer. The Accommodation Team also need your PRID so that they can easily identify you if you have a query.
Your PRID is used to identify you when you make a payment, such as your tuition fees.
