Supporting Early Pregnancy Endings in the Workplace

About us

Ilaria Boncori is a Professor of Organisation Behaviour and Human Resources Management in Essex Business School, at the University of Essex. Her research focuses on dynamics of in/exclusion in organisations and processes of organising. In particular, over the past two decades she has been researching issues around gender and sexuality; race and ethnicity; women’s health; and foreignness. She takes an interdisciplinary and intersectional approach to her research, focusing mostly on qualitative inquiry (including in-depth interviews, narrative and visual arts-based methods).

She has served in various editorial positions in top international academic journals and authored many books, chapters, articles as well as non-academic publications.

At the University, she has held various leadership roles at the departmental, faculty and pan-university level for Undergraduate (i.e. Bachelor), postgraduate taught (i.e. Masters) and Postgraduate Research (i.e.PhD) education. She also serves as a representative for the University in various national and international consortia, networks and alliances.

Ilaria is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an Academic Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Our collaborations on pregnancy endings research

Ilaria’s research on pregnancy endings has been conducted across various funded projects and in collaboration with several colleagues – Prof Joanna Brewis, Dr Deborah BrewisProf Julie Davies, Dr Aimee Middlemiss, Dr Killian Mullan, Dr Victoria Newton and Katy Schnitzler; Dr Hamid Foroughi, and Dr Wendy Archer; and Nicolae Radulescu.
