All University students are provided with an Essex IT account that gives you access to a wide range of digital services.
Don't forget to update your password on all of your devices when you change it.
MFA helps to protect your IT account from unauthorised access.
Contact the IT Helpdesk if you're still having problems.
The University will contact you by email or post to let you know when and how you can collect your IT account details. This usually happens shortly after your application has been processed and you have been accepted.
This email or letter contains your Personal Record Identifier (PRID) which you'll need to set up your account.
Once you have your PRID you can then set up your IT account.
If you haven't got this email and your start date is soon, contact your line manager.
Your IT account will close 93 days after you officially leave the University.
After the 93 days, you will no longer be able to access University services, for example email or OneDrive, so there are some things you need to consider before this happens.
By using your IT account, you are agreeing to the IT Acceptable Use Policy.
