Research Group

Political Economy Political Science Institutions (PEPSI)

Big Ben viewed through an ornate railing, with large grey clouds in the background.

This research group was founded in 2022 by faculty in the Department of Government who study political economy and institutions.

The research group aims to bring together researchers who work broadly in the fields of political economy and political institutions. The research focus of the group is the relationship between various sociopolitical and economic phenomena that impact governance, policy decision making, and/or individual’s behaviour.

The Department of Government at the University of Essex leads this group and looks for opportunities to connect with colleagues around the world.
