Linking theory and practice in English language teaching

English is a language with global reach, and the contexts in which it is taught and learnt are varied and complex.

Our research on English language teaching covers diverse yet complementary areas of both theory and practice. This cluster, led by Dr Tracey Costley, explores a wide range of English language teaching contexts with interests in areas such as the use of literature as a resource for language teaching, the affective dimension of language learning and teaching such as language learner anxiety and language teacher emotions and multilingual pedagogies.
