Where can I find details of course fees for each course?
Our individual course pages provide details of the course fees for all courses, including whether the amount shown is a fee for the entire course, an annual fee or a modular fee. To search for your course, use our Course Finder search tool.
Annual fee changes
2025-2026
For students commencing their studies at the University of Essex in 2025-26 academic years, your fees will increase by up to 5% for each subsequent academic year of study. This is subject to review for each academic year.
Our fees enable us to provide a high-quality educational experience, to invest in teaching, services and facilities, and to increase our investment in widening participation, access and student opportunity. We publish information on how we use your fees.
Part-time fees
Part-time fees are calculated on a pro-rata basis from the course's full-time fee.
If you take a one-year Masters on a part-time basis over two years, as standard, you'll pay half of the course's fee in your first year. In your second year you'll pay half of the full-time fee for that year, which may be different to the fee in your first year.
Funding your studies
We offer a wide range of scholarships and bursaries to make funding your studies easier. See our Masters Scholarships and Funding page to explore our awards and other funding sources available, including student loan information.
