Exploring identity, stereotypes, and community
We took up residence in a beach hut on the sea front in Clacton one summer week to celebrate the history of women from Clacton and Essex.
We offered free bookable arts workshops with artist Kathleen Dutton. These workshops were open to everyone.
Artist Kathleen Dutton led an exploration of genre, identity, and women’s history through art. The workshops provided reflections on issues of identity and community. Participants were given canvases and painting, drawing, and collage materials. The artist was there to guide them through the journey of self-representation.
