Eligibility and Application details
- You must have a minimum year 1 mark of 70 or above.
- You must be registered as a current student here at the University of Essex and completing a year studying abroad through Essex Abroad.
- Your year abroad programme must take place in person, and you must travel to the host country.
- If you are awarded funding, you will be asked to write a short report (max. 500 words) describing your study abroad experience once it has been completed, agree to show a commitment to promote the University of Essex, and a commitment to support the study abroad programme on your return.
- If you do not successfully complete your time abroad, you will be required to repay the bursary in full.
You do not need to apply for funding for the Essex Abroad Bursary for your year abroad. Essex Abroad will be in touch with eligible students. We will contact those eligible using your University of Essex email account.
