With a multidisciplinary approach, our team at the University of Essex conducts cutting-edge research across various domains crucial to understanding and addressing complex global issues. Our researchers study the impact of climate and weather conditions and environmental factors on political outcomes to understand and address the complexities of climate change.

Our research on migration and livelihoods investigates the intricate relationship between migration patterns and the impact on individuals' economic activities and sustainable livelihoods, shedding light on the complex intersections between mobility, economic well-being and political outcomes.

Our research on identity politics examines the complexities of how social groups especially those defined by ethnicity, religion and gender define, assert, and negotiate their identities within political contexts, shedding light on the implications for representation, power dynamics, and social cohesion.
