The University LGBTQ+ Staff Forum is a vibrant community dedicated to supporting, celebrating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ staff at Essex.

Our forum is a space where LGBTQ+ staff and PhD students come together for a variety of reasons, like providing informal peer support, sharing resources, and setting up social activities for our LGBTQ+ community at Essex. We also aim to collaborate with the wider University management and other staff networks on broader issues like gender, race, and disability, and we advocate for change to ensure a comprehensive approach to inclusion and diversity.

Whether it's our monthly meetings, university-wide events, or social mixers, we make sure there's always something to look forward to. These events are fantastic opportunities to relax, meet new people, and strengthen our community bonds.

One of the most important aspects of our forum is how we work with university management to advocate for LGBTQ+ staff and students. As members, we are involved in reviewing relevant policies and practices, ensuring they're inclusive and supportive. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful change and ensure our university is a welcoming place for everyone.
