Thank you for the strawberries

Thank you to everyone who attended the staff strawberry picnic at our Colchester Campus which was made possible by a generous donation of strawberries from Tiptree and Sons, the musical talents of our staff who performed with their band, Line Break; and by Heads of Department and Section who provided budget support for this event.

Event Essex colleagues were ably supported by staff from the OVC Governance and PA team who poured more than 500 drinks and served 80kg of strawberries to our attendees, including to those who were setting up for graduation or only able to take a short break on the day.

Despite the forecast, the weather held off and we were able enjoy a lovely afternoon filled with delicious strawberries, great company and fantastic music. Events like this remind us of the strong community we have built together and are an opportunity to say thank you to colleagues for their hard work this year. Planning is already under way for next year’s event, and a request for sunshine has been submitted!
