Studying at the University of Essex was a truly transformative experience for me.
Several years ago, I arrived at Essex, a place that has a strong focus on innovation, global perspectives in business education, and its ability to prepare students for their future. At that point in my career, I was eager to enhance my existing skillset and gain the tools to navigate an evolving business landscape with confidence.
Whilst studying at Essex, I received the guidance and encouragement needed to develop a strong foundation in strategic leadership and business management. These are skills I continue to apply in my career journey today.
During my time studying, the most rewarding aspect was the opportunity to connect with peers from diverse backgrounds, engaging in thought-provoking exchanges with individuals from different parts of the world. This challenged my thinking, broadened my perspectives, and enriched my understanding of global business dynamics. The faculty were exceptionally supportive and played a critical role in shaping my academic journey. I would like to say a special thanks to Professor Pye, Dr Khayesi and Sian Savage who were instrumental in my success at Essex. Their mentorship, expertise and unwavering support made a lasting impact on both my academic and personal growth.
Since graduating from the University of Essex in 2018, I have built a dynamic career at the intersection of financial technology, business leadership, and social impact. Currently, I am Regional Head of Employer Relationships for Africa and the ACCA Zambia Country Head. I’ve taken on many varying roles which reflect my drive for meaningful change – this includes serving as a Trustee and Board Member for two non-profit organisations, founding a transformative platform dedicated to mentoring emerging leaders and championing inclusive leadership. My work has been recognised with the UNCDF Private Sector Champion award, the Global ACCA CEO award and most recently, I was recognised as one of the Top 100 Career Women in Africa, 2024.
My goal for the future is to be a catalyst that sparks the kind of change that transforms not just lives, but entire societies. I want to build inclusive societies, foster sponsorship, and create workplaces that are not only safe but innovative, flexible and ready for the future. I have many big dreams and visions for the future but being so passionate about education, I would love to equalise opportunities for every child, young leader and dreamer so they have the chance to access education and thrive to make an impact on the world.
Mentorship and sponsorship unlock potential and nurtures a generation of trailblazing leaders who aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo and redefine what leadership looks like. Each step of my journey has fuelled my passion for fostering innovation, inclusivity, and leadership that drives sustainable progress.
