Come and join the BAME Staff forum and be part of the change!
The Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Staff Forum is a community group made up of staff (including academic staff and professional services) who identify as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic. The aim of the Forum is to provide a place to share experiences, discuss ideas and visions, as well as to provide support for colleagues where this is needed.
We think it is important that racial inequality is on the agenda when it comes to discussions of (in)equality at the University. We are also keen to work with other staff and student networks to address a range of inequalities that affect our communities.
We offer mentoring to colleagues. So, if you would like to mentor and/or be mentored, take a look at our mentoring for BAME staff information.
If you would like to know more about the Forum or would like to be added to the mailing list, please get in touch with the Forum’s Co-chairs Dr Katya Al Khateeb (serene@essex.ac.uk) and Raihana Mohammed (rmohama@essex.ac.uk).
