From April 2018, the Office for Students (OfS) opened its doors as the new regulator for higher education providers in England. Its work is informed directly by the Higher Education and Research Act 2017. The principal aim of the regulator is to safeguard student interest. Universities are required to register with the OfS and to comply with the new Regulatory Framework for higher education in England.
Council approved the University’s registration documents on 14 May 2018, and the University submitted its application to register with the OfS on 23 May 2018. To secure our initial registration with OfS, we were required to produce four items of evidence:
