Using People Manager

People Manager is a tool that allows line managers, and some administrators with selected access, to manage employee leave and view sickness records online. It has a host of other reporting benefits and in the future, further modules will be introduced to make your working life easier and more efficient.

Login to People Manager

People Manager sits within the core P&C and Payroll system called iTrent. It holds the University’s organisational structure, payroll, and personal details of every employee.

    Access

    People Manager access is given automatically once you assume line management responsibility. However, if you are experiencing issues logging on please contact  Commercial Applications. If adjustments are needed to reporting lines, please contact the staffing team staffing@essex.ac.uk.

    Off-campus access

    To access People Manager off campus, you must first set up a VPN connection.

    Data protection

    People Manager will only give managers access to information related to employees who report directly to them. It's essential that the University’s Data Protection Policy and Staff Privacy Policy are followed – please take the time to read these for a reminder of the responsibilities.
