Interview process

Interview invitations

For Professional Service posts that are permanent or fixed-term for over six months, the invitations to interview will be sent via the e-Recruitment system (iTrent) by the hiring manager or a nominated administrator. The Resourcing Team will send invitations for Academic posts.

For Professional Services posts, the Administrator/Resourcing Assistant will send the invitations through the e-Recruitment system (iTrent) giving candidates a minimum of one week prior to interviews to confirm their attendance. One of the ways invitations can be sent is via ‘Choose and Book’ which allows candidates to select their chosen interview slot and provides hiring managers, who have panel member access, the ability to review in real time. Please see the hiring manager access guide (.pdf) and recruitment panel member access guide (.pdf) for more information.

Academic posts

For academic and research posts, the Resourcing Team will aim to send invitations out two weeks prior to the interview date. References will be requested prior to interview. For posts at Senior Lecturer and above, external assessors' reports will also be requested at this stage.

Interview schedule

Two working days prior to the interviews taking place a final interview schedule will be sent by the Resourcing Team to the interview panel (and requested administrative staff). For academic and research posts this will include any references and external assessors' reports that have been received.

Logistics

All room bookings, catering and on the day logistics should be managed by the Department.

Catering costs are to be covered by the Department and cannot be charged to People & Culture.
