The following guides will assist you in using Unit 4 Business World to request funding authorisation (permission to recruit) using the e-Recruitment system (iTrent) to manage your vacancy and general guidance on both Academic and Professional Services recruitment.

It is mandatory for all employees participating in recruitment activities to undertake the following training on Moodle:
Users can self-enrol onto these modules. If you have any questions regarding accessing these, please email resourcing@essex.ac.uk. It is essential for the Chair of the interview panel to undertake the Unconscious Bias training online via Moodle.

Some departments may wish to invite candidates to socialise with members of the department either in the department itself or over dinner. This is not recommended practice and if it occurs it needs to be carefully managed in accordance with our guidance on social occasions (.docx).
Please note that social occasions cannot form part of the selection process.
