Luke has been an integral part of The Media Centre since November 2015, managing two dynamic teams that support the university’s media and teaching needs. His videography team produces high-end promotional videos that highlight research excellence and drive student recruitment, while his technical team ensures seamless support for all teaching that relies on The Media Centre’s facilities and resources. Beyond this, they provide a range of media services, including photography, podcast recording, event videography, and live streaming, with a key role in broadcasting all university graduation ceremonies.
With a BSc in Media Technology from the University of Lincoln, Luke brings over 15 years of expertise in video production, media creation, and live event management. His career spans roles as a theatre stage manager, theatre technician, and event manager, experiences that have honed his problem-solving skills and ability to deliver high-quality productions under pressure. He also oversees The Media Centre’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) GVC drone authorization, ensuring the university maintains high safety and operational standards for aerial video/photography.
Passionate about teaching and empowering others, Luke believes in equipping staff and students with the skills they need rather than simply doing the work for them. His approach to customer service is built on expert knowledge, clear communication, and a commitment to delivering professional media solutions. He thrives on the variety of his role and the challenges that come with problem-solving in a fast-paced, creative environment.
