Mental health issues can impact around 1 in 4 people in any given year. Stress, depression and anxiety can impact upon your daily routine, whether this is a change in your mood or preventing you from wanting to get out of bed in the morning.
Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing proactively support staff within the workplace to achieve positive mental and physical wellbeing using a stepped approach. In relation to mental health, this approach begins by offering access to SilverCloud, which provides online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
SilverCloud use clinically proven tools based on CBT techniques. It may help you identify key problems and then offers activities to help you overcome these. Evaluation of the programme demonstrates high improvement rates for depression, anxiety and stress. SilverCloud can be accessed from your computer, tablet or mobile phone, 24/7.
SilverCloud is a confidential space and no-one from inside or outside the University will have access to the work you're doing in the programme.
However, as you work through the questions, if any of your answers indicate you're at risk because of thoughts of harm to yourself or others, this will be flagged to Occupational Health via a confidential email. In these circumstances, someone from the Occupational Health team will contact you by email to offer further support.
If you would like a supporter while you work through the programme, Health in Mind (Essex IAPT service) are able to offer this.
