Approval process for University Transfer Programmes

The process below applies to all types of University Transfer Programmes. Please contact the Marketing and Student Recruitment Team at linkagreements@essex.ac.uk if you need any advice before submitting a proposal to form a new transfer programme.

The following documents are only accessible to Essex users.

Process summary

Stage 1: Proposal and outline institutional approval

The appropriate proposal form(s) should be completed by a member of Essex staff and returned to the Marketing and Student Recruitment Office (linkagreements@essex.ac.uk).

Institutional approval

The Marketing and Student Recruitment Team will review the proposal and initial due diligence included in the New University Transfer Programme form, and institutional approval will be granted by the team.  Proposals will then be passed to departments for academic approval. Friendship agreements will require institutional approval only.

Stage 2: academic approval

The relevant Head(s) of Department(s) or their nominees will be asked to give academic approval for the transfer programme.

If approval has been received from the relevant Head(s) of Department(s), the proposal will be sent to the relevant Faculty Executive Dean(s) for approval.

Stage 3: development of agreement

An agreement will be produced by the Marketing and Student Recruitment Team, the content of which will be agreed by the transfer institution, prior to being signed.
