Participating in knowledge exchange (KE) activities has many benefits:
For organisations and businesses, knowledge exchange is a way to work with the University to access facilities, knowledge and expertise to help solve challenges, innovate and grow.
When participating in KE at Essex you will also be fully supported by the Knowledge Exchange Team and/or Business Engagement Team depending on the project. This includes help and guidance with:
Whatever your career stages, you can participate in KE activities.
If you are an Early Career Researcher, or you have little experience with KE, an evaluation services or smaller consultancy project is a great way to get started.
If you are a mid-late career stage academic, you could be leading a large-scale consulting or evaluation project or may be commissioned to undertake a piece of contract research. You can also participate in innovation-led research partnerships with industry, such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, SMART Grants and other projects developed from thematic funding calls from the likes of Innovate UK and Research Councils.
Contact your departmental Knowledge Exchange Manager to see how you can get started on your KE journey. The team details can be found here.
Additionally, make sure your Staff Profile is up to date with your research and key areas of interest so you can be easily identified when projects are being developed for client partners.
